Brief info about Vinted

Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:

Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.

Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.

Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.

Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people. Our backers include Accel, EQT Growth, Insight Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sprints, and TPG.

Information about the position

As a Manager of Data Science & Analytics (DSA) in the Order domain, you will be responsible for co-creating and succeeding on the domain’s strategic direction and will (co-)own domain OKRs. You’ll be leading a team of 5 Decision scientists, most of them embedded in the product delivery teams. We work in an EPDA (engineering, product, design, and analytics) structure, and DSA in the teams is represented by decision scientists who will report to you.

We’re looking for the Manager of Data Science & Analytic who would contribute to the Vinted vision of making second-hand the first choice by leading the Order domain.

In this role, you will tackle versatile challenges ahead:

  • Product challenges: We collaborate with multiple stakeholders to manage the complex process that occurs after purchase, from delivery to payment completion, addressing diverse member needs and numerous different scenarios. Our goal is to ensure each order becomes a successful transaction for both buyers and sellers. We achieve this through continuous flow improvements, issue prevention, and efficient self-resolution tools. The Order domain is central to Vinted's growth initiatives, supporting expansions into new countries, categories, and new services.
  • Business challenges: European regulations (DAC7) require marketplaces to report taxpayer information of top sellers to tax authorities. This naturally creates friction for our valuable users when we collect this information from them on the platform. The Order domain, through user flow improvements, experimentation, and business analysis, ensures that the friction as well as the adverse impact on business are minimised.
  • Organisational challenges: In your team, four decision scientists are embedded into EPDA teams, while one is working on domain-level challenges. The data quality at the source is ensured by collaborating with analytics engineers who are not directly reporting to you. We seek a Manager of Data Science & Analytics to hire top talent, improve collaboration, workflows, and delivery management in this evolving setup.

Who will you work with?

  • Ona Juodkienė: “Working for a Lithuanian company with a global presence is genuinely rewarding. At the Order domain, we're at the core of the customer journey, contributing significantly to making a real impact on our customers and fulfilling the company's mission. Being part of this domain means collaborating with highly motivated and engaged individuals who are passionate about what they do.”
  • Migle Butkevice: “fast-paced, ever-changing environment + complex flows with numerous variations - that's what keeps me excited!! Not a single boring day here.”
  • Anna Kaminskienė: “I love the challenge of navigating the complexities of 3 business units, various carriers, payment systems, regulations, and categories to meet diverse user needs. Effort always pays off greatly when you see how you have simplified the lives of millions of users.”
  • Migle Capė: “I am at my best when solving really important questions that make a difference, and the Order domain has plenty of them!”

In this position, you’ll

  • Create, align, and execute the domain’s vision and strategy together with the rest of the domain leadership (Engineering, Product Management, and Design)
  • Lead a team of 5 decision scientists, and foster a healthy team environment by supporting their career growth and proactively hiring new members
  • Define and own the key performance indicators of the team by relying on data and metrics
  • Drive measurement of impact through experimentation
  • Be accountable for domain’s DSA delivery quality
