Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company that builds observability and monitoring tooling used by millions worldwide. The Solutions Engineering Manager (East Region) will build and lead a high-performing regional team of Solution Engineers, partner with Sales, Customer Experience, Product, Engineering and Marketing, and help drive adoption of Grafana OSS and commercial/cloud offerings.
Responsibilities
- Attract, recruit, ramp, mentor and develop a team of Presales Solution Engineers from diverse backgrounds.
- Operate as a player/coach: balance hands-on field responsibilities (executive sponsorship of key accounts, demos, workshops, POVs, technical validation) with coaching and performance management of the team.
- Own regional planning, actions and outcomes; partner with sales leadership on GTM programs and top-of-funnel initiatives.
- Drive programs and collateral for customer adoption and roll-out of Grafana products; partner with Customer Experience for professional services, support, training and customer success.
- Work with Marketing to drive community and adoption programs in the region for OSS and commercial/cloud products.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to influence the product roadmap based on customer and team feedback.
- Own and report on quarterly cadence and team performance; help build pipeline and drive new logo acquisition.
Requirements
- Located in the Greater New York City Area (role is Remote within the United States).
- 5+ years in the high tech industry in roles such as Developer, Sales Engineer/Architect, Manager, etc.
- Direct experience mentoring, developing people and managing performance over time.
- Direct experience selling monitoring, data or visualization products and deep familiarity with observability/monitoring concepts.
- Experience with Open Source selling or Cloud-first / product-led GTM motions is a strong plus.
- Experience with sales methodologies and qualification frameworks (examples called out: Command of the Message, MEDDPICC).
- Familiarity with DevOps tooling and practices (IaC, CI/CD, GitHub Actions) is a plus.
- Proven ability to own a book of business, exceed quarterly targets, and partner effectively with sales leaders.
Compensation & Benefits
- US OTE (On-Target Earnings) range: $234,000 - $278,000 (actual compensation may vary by level, experience and skills).
- Roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
- 100% remote company culture with global teams; in-person onboarding is provided.
- Global annual leave policy: 30 days per annum (3 days reserved for Grafana Shutdown Days). Local legislation will be adhered to where applicable.
