Details

NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. Today NVIDIA is focused on AI and GPU-based compute platforms. This role is a Network Engineer / Networking Lead position on NVIDIA's NPI (New Product Introduction) Networking team, connecting engineering with NVIS field teams to deliver networking solutions for new products and GPU-based compute platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to review, influence, and align networking design decisions across hardware, software, firmware, and logical architecture for products such as NVLINK, Spectrum X, and other NVIDIA networking platforms.
  • Evaluate networking changes and communicate impact to the field organization to maintain robust, scalable workflows aligned with product evolution.
  • Define and relay detailed networking requirements to engineering and product management to enable successful NPI for GPU-based compute platforms.
  • Document architectural and design changes and produce clear, actionable deliverables for the field organization, including standardized workflows, deployment guides, and configuration examples.
  • Validate advanced network designs — including Ethernet, InfiniBand, NVLINK, and NVSwitch RDMA fabrics — for performance and scalability to meet real-world customer scenarios and deployment requirements.
  • Support the NPI team by bridging gaps, tracking progress, and aligning collaborators in product development.
  • Support NVIDIA’s mission to deliver breakthrough technologies for global customers and OEM partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years experience in at least two of: IP routing, internetworking, LAN switching, Linux systems, infrastructure automation (e.g., Ansible, Salt), OpenStack, VMware ESXi, VXLAN overlays, or data center network design.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in modern data center networking, with deep expertise in BGP EVPN over VXLAN architectures.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for automation, network validation, and workflow optimization.
  • In-depth experience with network management and monitoring tools (SNMP, syslog, Telegraf, and similar observability stacks).
  • Strong grounding in network design principles, protocols, troubleshooting, and best practices — including production experience with BGP and OSPF.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical collaborators.
  • Customer-first attitude, self-motivation, and proactive leadership in cross-functional environments.

Ways to stand out

  • Experience with open networking platforms, especially Mellanox switches and Cumulus Linux.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows in a network engineering context (Git, GitLab, Jenkins).
  • Active engagement in networking-related open-source projects or technical communities.
  • Background in Professional Services, customer-facing deployment, and solutions optimization.
  • Industry certifications such as CCIE, RHCE, or other advanced Linux/networking credentials.

Compensation & Other Details

  • Base salary ranges (dependent on level/location/experience):
    • Level 5: 176,000 USD - 276,000 USD
    • Level 6: 208,000 USD - 327,750 USD
  • You will also be eligible for equity and benefits (link to NVIDIA benefits provided in original posting).
  • Applications accepted at least until August 25, 2025.
