Within NVIDIA, the Networking Business Unit builds chips, systems, and software for advanced data center and hyper-converged networks. NVIDIA Cumulus Linux is an innovative open network operating system with flexible architecture and automation capabilities.
This internship is in the routing protocol software area of NVIDIA Cumulus Linux, involving the industry-leading open routing suite Free Range Routing. The intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience contributing to an open source project.
Responsibilities
- Work on prototyping enhancements to routing protocol software, especially BGP.
- Perform performance analysis through tests and measurements, and tuning.
- Improve test automation framework.
Requirements
- Pursuing a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in C and Python.
- Knowledge of shell scripting.
- Clear understanding of data networking, especially TCP/IP and IP routing protocols.
- Familiarity with software development in a Linux environment including GNU toolset and git.
- Team player with excellent work ethics and communication skills.
Ways to Stand Out
- Good knowledge of Linux internals and networking concepts.
- Knowledge of one or more IP routing protocols like BGP or OSPF.
- Participation in open-source community or projects.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly rate between 18 USD and 71 USD depending on factors.
