NVIDIA is offering 2026 generative AI–focused research internships for PhD students. By submitting your resume you express interest in one of the internship opportunities; resumes are reviewed on an ongoing basis and a recruiter may reach out if your experience fits an opportunity. Internships provide hands-on research experience with NVIDIA research teams, with opportunities to transfer research to product groups (prototypes, patents, products) and to publish original research.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement algorithms that push the boundaries of generative AI, computer vision, robotics, and other technology domains relevant to NVIDIA’s business.
- Collaborate with team members, other teams, and external researchers.
- Transfer research outcomes to product groups; deliverables may include prototypes, patents, products, and/or publishing original research.
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in a university pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field for the entire duration of the internship.
- Prior experience or knowledge (depending on the internship) may include programming skills and technologies such as:
- Python, C++, CUDA
- Deep learning frameworks: PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, etc.
- Strong background in research with publications at top conferences.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with large-scale model training is a plus.
Potential Research Areas (experience in at least one is required)
- Multimodal foundation models
- Diffusion models
- World models
- Image, video, or audio generation
- Large language models
- Vision-language models
- Action-based transformers
- Long context methods
- Physics-based simulation
- Flow-based generative models
- Synthetic data generation
- AI for science
- Protein/molecule generation
- Climate modeling and weather forecasting
- Partial differential equations (PDEs)
Compensation & Benefits
- Internship hourly rate range: 30 USD - 94 USD (standard pay based on position, location, year in school, degree, and experience).
- Interns are eligible for NVIDIA intern benefits. See NVIDIA resources for student programs, benefits, and other student resources.
Additional Information
