NVIDIA Research is seeking world-class PhD Research Interns to join robotics-focused teams (for example Seattle Robotics Lab (SRL), Generalist Embodied Agent Research (GEAR), and the Learning and Perception Research Group). By submitting your resume you express interest in one of NVIDIA's 2026 Robotics-focused research internships. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
This internship is intended for candidates who are actively enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field for the entire duration of the internship. The internship is full-time and the standard intern hourly pay range is stated as 30 USD - 94 USD (actual pay is based on position, location, year in school, degree, and experience).
Responsibilities
- Work with experts in robotics and define a research project.
- Design and implement novel robotics methods and prototypes.
- Collaborate with research team members and internal product teams.
- Transfer research to product groups; deliverables may include prototypes, patents, products, and/or published research.
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in a PhD degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field for the entire duration of the internship.
- Strong background in research, with publications at top conferences expected.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Depending on the internship, prior experience or knowledge may include programming and technologies such as:
- Python, C++, CUDA
- Deep learning frameworks: PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow
- Physics and simulation frameworks: Isaac Sim / Isaac Lab, MuJoCo
- Large-scale model training (a plus)
- Experience or interest in topics such as reinforcement learning, imitation learning, motion planning, perception, simulation (sim-to-real / real-to-sim), synthetic data generation, and foundation or vision-language-action models.

Compensation & Benefits
- Intern hourly rate range: 30 USD - 94 USD.
