The Ireland Operations Senior Associate will primarily be responsible for the Coinbase Ireland (CBIE) Operational Resilience Framework to comply with Central Bank of Ireland Cross Industry Guidance on Operational Resilience and for providing day-to-day support across Ireland Operations, including but not limited to risk assessment and approvals of proposed launches impacting Coinbase Ireland. The successful candidate will maintain and enhance all aspects of the CBIE operational resilience framework including service criticality assessment and business continuity management. Operational resilience obligations include defining, documenting, and testing how Coinbase identifies and prepares, responds and adapts, recovers and learns from business-impacting events. This role reports to the COO of Ireland and works under the general supervision of the CB Ireland Country Director.
While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all aspects of the CB Ireland Limited (CBIE) Operational Resilience Framework to comply with Central Bank of Ireland Cross Industry Guidance on Operational Resilience.
- Ensure compliance with governance requirements for the CBIE Operational Resilience Framework.
- Maintain and uplift criticality criteria and assessment of business services to define CBIE Critical or Important Business Services (CIBS).
- Conduct annual review and uplift of CIBS impact tolerances.
- Own and maintain the CBIE interdependencies maps; identify and track critical systems, processes, people, partners and locations crucial to continued business operations. Ensure alignment with the CBIE Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) register of information and the CBIE outsource register.
- Annual uplift of the Incident Management policy, Incident Management procedure and Crisis Communications Plan.
- Work cross-functionally with Technology, Security, Operations, IT, Infrastructure, Engineering and Risk teams to coordinate and lead business continuity plans and scenario testing, identify and prioritise remediation, and track completion.
- Produce business continuity metrics and reporting.
- Promote an effective culture of learning and continuous improvement as operational resilience evolves, including driving cross-functional training and completing annual self-assessment of the framework.
- Maintain compliance with all standards, regulations, and requirements.
- Ensure follow-up and closure of actions to address root causes of errors and complaints in compliance with Error Handling Policy and Complaints Handling Policy and all regulatory obligations.
- Provide support across 1 LOD Operations key areas including planned launch assessments and approvals, staffing and organisation, audits, etc.
Requirements
- Proven track record in operational management and oversight, including policies and procedures development and monitoring day-to-day activities.
- Proven track record and understanding of operational resilience to comply with Central Bank of Ireland Cross Industry Guidance on Operational Resilience.
- Strong problem-solving skills; ability to identify and analyze problems effectively and develop optimal solutions.
- Good understanding of how the various functions of a regulated financial services business operate (e.g., Product Launch, Operations, Compliance, Finance, Risk, Treasury, Audit, Outsourcing).
- Organizational skills & time management: excellent ability to oversee multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Risk management: proficient in identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks that could disrupt operations and developing contingency plans.
- Clear verbal and written communicator.
- Ability to have impact and influence with senior, peer & junior colleagues both regionally and globally.
- Proven judgment to assess risk impact & address or escalate accordingly.
- Self-starter who takes ownership and initiative for identifying opportunities, drives continuous improvement and is willing to roll up sleeves.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong prioritisation skills.

- Previous experience working in a multinational / US-headquartered business.
- Experience with retail-oriented payments, trading, or brokerage platforms.
- Previous work experience or personal interest in crypto/blockchain space.
Compensation and Additional Information
- Pay Range: €122,100 — €122,100 EUR (target annual salary). Full-time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.).
- Attendance at in-person team/company offsites is expected and supported.
