The Community You Will Join:
As a Payments Program Manager, you will join a dynamic and innovative Payments team focused on delivering exceptional service and driving strategic goals. You will work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business operations teams, while collaborating closely with Payments leadership to launch and execute large-scale, high-impact initiatives. You'll play a pivotal role in bringing the vision of building the worldβs most loyal travel community to life, driving productivity, and fostering clear communication across the organization.

In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of strategic and operational programs that deliver measurable outcomes, with a strong focus on efficiency, communication, and risk management. You will play a critical part in driving the execution of global initiatives that shape the future of Payments, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to anticipate risks, manage resources effectively, and drive the team toward meeting key project milestones and success criteria.
A Typical Day:
- Collaborate with Payments leadership to define and execute strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate with Payments Product and Engineering teams to develop project plans, track success criteria, and manage timelines.
- Effectively communicate project status, risks, and deliverables to key stakeholders across the organization.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize operational requirements, ensuring a flawless payments experience.
- Drive change management by influencing key stakeholders and fostering consensus through clear communication and leadership.
- Continuously improve processes by leveraging best practices and advocating for product improvements and tools necessary for project success.
Your Expertise:
- 8+ years of program management experience, with a strong emphasis on program management best practices and methods, ideally in a high-growth, high-volume platform tech environment.
- Expertise in Payments, including Routing, Processing, Payments Risk, Compliance, and Product Strategy.
- Proven experience in working with collaborative program management tools such as Asana, AirTable, JIRA, Google Docs, and in agile/scrum environments.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior leaders.
- Deep understanding of the product development lifecycle and experience formulating digestible content from multiple sources.
- Strong ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, managing dependencies, risks, and issues.
- BS/BA degree in business or a technical field, or equivalent job experience.
- Preferred: Experience in Consulting, Business Operations, or a similar role, and a bias for action and independent problem-solving.
- Ability to work with international partners and across multiple time zones, as well as flexibility in managing global programs.
Your Location:
This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. While the position is Remote Eligible, you must live in a state where Airbnb Payments, Inc. (a subsidiary of Airbnb, Inc.) is a registered entity.
