Responsibilities
- Review high-risk transfers for potential manufactured spend, rewards abuse, or fraudulent activity and make accurate decisions on customer accounts.
- Handle end-to-end investigation and resolution of risk-related escalations across Coinbase's product offerings (deposits, withdrawals, trading activity, transactions flagged for review).
- Communicate findings and recommendations to the broader team and leadership.
- Monitor dashboards to ensure key metrics stay within target.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Customer Support, and Payments Risk investigation teams on fraud mitigation strategies and risk logic.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in payments risk, fraud mitigation, or payment rails such as ACH, Push Payments, or Cards.
- 2+ years experience fighting internet-based risk, abuse, or fraud in e-commerce or financial services.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong curiosity and ability to self-drive investigations, identify patterns, and root causes.
- Passion for fighting fraud.
- Clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution aligned with Coinbase's culture.
- Familiarity with SQL for querying large datasets is preferable.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with data visualization tools like Looker or Tableau.
- Familiarity with GitHub, JIRA, and Google Workspace.
- Aptitude for automation.
- Understanding of blockchain analytics and fraud trends within cryptocurrency.

Pay Range: $101,000 CAD per year plus target bonus, equity, and benefits.
