Role overview
The Defense Platform team builds and maintains foundational capabilities for proactive and reactive detection and mitigation. Our capabilities span Risk Management, Continuous and Holistic Risk Evaluation, and User Authenticity. These capabilities are used by various teams all across Airbnb.
As a Platform Product Manager on the AI/ML Defense Platform team, you will conceptualize, build and evangelize foundational ML models and signals that enable teams in domains such as Identity, Safety, Abuse and Fraud. You will identify and solve Trust & Safety issues across different products, teams, and operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Establish the vision for a suite of AI/ML products based on the value we can provide.
- Develop the product roadmap and build consensus on prioritization to drive product execution.
- Challenge the status quo and inspire people toward a unified outcome.
- Define goals and success with clearly measurable objectives and key results (OKRs).
- Efficiently execute to ship products and deliver impact for our business and users.
- Communicate concisely and influence outcomes across a diverse stakeholder audience, including C-level executives, product, and technical stakeholders.
- Build alignment across product teams and cross-functional partners (FP&A, Marketing, Operations, Customer Experience, Trust, etc.) and leadership.
- Drive product development with a team of Engineers, Data Scientists, Operations Leads and Policy Experts.
- Prioritize work based on inputs from many stakeholders and iterate as needed.
- Evaluate new product opportunities and propose buy/build/partner solutions with data and users at the forefront.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product management experience.
- 2+ years of building AI/ML products or technical product management experience.
- Prior product, operation, or engineering experience working in Security, Trust, Safety, or Fraud.
- Ability to carefully trade-off fraud prevention and impact to good users.
- Strong cross-customer collaboration: harmonizes strategies and needs of multiple customers; influences customer strategy and plans.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication ability to a diverse stakeholder audience.
- Self-motivated, proactive, with creative and critical thinking capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams directly and indirectly to success.
Benefits / Compensation
- Base pay range: $194,000 β $239,000 USD (actual base pay depends on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands).
- This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
Location & Work Policy
- This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager.
