About the Team

The Account & Platform Integrity Operations team protects OpenAI's ecosystem by ensuring that users, developers, partners, and organizations can access and build on our platform safely and responsibly. The team works across account integrity, fraud prevention, abuse detection, and platform risk to prevent bad actors from exploiting OpenAI's products and developer surfaces.

This role will sit within the Account & Platform Integrity Operations team while partnering closely with teams across the Ecosystem organization to ensure the platform can scale rapidly without compromising trust, quality, or safety.

About the Role

As OpenAI's developer ecosystem expands, we're building the operational foundation to support the next generation of plugins, MCP apps, agent skills, and integrations. As a Platform Operations Program Manager, you'll partner across Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, Security, and Developer Experience to design the systems and operating models that enable ecosystem growth while maintaining quality, trust, and an exceptional developer experience.

This role requires strong operational judgment, a deep understanding of developer platforms and APIs, empathy for the developer experience, and the ability to translate evolving product, platform, and policy requirements into scalable operational systems.

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid - 3 days in office)

Responsibilities

  • Own the operational processes that help developers bring apps, plugins, and integrations to market, from submission and review through launch, appeals, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Manage external review partners and policy operations workflows, helping teams apply standards consistently while identifying areas where guidance, process, or quality expectations need to improve.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, Security, Developer Experience, and Go-to-Market teams to turn platform goals and requirements into clear, effective operating processes.
  • Lead high-priority partner reviews and escalations, balancing speed to launch with user trust, and consistent standards.
  • Create feedback loops across product, policy, tooling, and developer experience teams to reduce friction for developers and improve the quality of integrations over time.
  • Lead automation and AI-driven initiatives, such as agentic workflows, to improve the speed, consistency, and scale of review and support processes.
  • Serve as a senior cross-functional partner, using operational expertise and platform insights to help shape product strategy and improve how the ecosystem works.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in program management, developer operations, product operations, or related fields.
  • Comfortable engaging with technical concepts such as MCP, APIs, OAuth, authentication, permissions, and data flows, even if not writing production code.
  • Strong operational judgment with the ability to balance speed, safety, and business priorities when making decisions.
  • Experience bringing structure to ambiguous, cross-functional problems and driving alignment across Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, Security, and Operations.
  • Ability to think in systems rather than individual cases, identifying recurring patterns and building durable processes instead of one-off solutions.
  • Experience using AI and automation to reduce manual work, improve quality, and scale operational processes.
  • Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences; translating complex requirements into practical guidance.
  • A strong focus on developer and partner experience while maintaining consistent standards that protect the platform and its users.

Benefits

  • Base pay may vary depending on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Total compensation includes equity and performance-related bonus(es) for eligible employees.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer contributions to Health Savings Accounts.
  • Pre-tax accounts for Health FSA, Dependent Care FSA, and commuter expenses.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
  • Paid parental leave and paid medical/caregiver leave.
  • Flexible PTO for exempt employees and paid time off for non-exempt employees.
  • 13+ paid company holidays and additional company office closures.
  • Mental health and wellness support; employer-paid basic life and disability coverage.
  • Annual learning and development stipend.
  • Daily meals in offices and meal delivery credits as eligible.
  • Relocation support for eligible employees.
  • Additional taxable fringe benefits (charitable donation matching, wellness stipends).
