As a Presales Solutions Architect at Customer.io you will bridge the technical gap between qualified prospects' needs and our product. You will be focused on supporting the sales team in closing premium deals while ensuring prospective customers are confident in their buying decision. You will act as a technical resource and product expert for Account Executives and Sales Enablement, answering technical questions and delivering custom solutions for integrations and core use cases.
Responsibilities
- Assist Account Executives with technical pre-sales calls, emails, and thought leadership
- Build and document proofs of concepts in the Customer.io platform for customer use cases
- Articulate and present ideas and recommendations to prospective customers via written and video formats
- Work with Customer Success to ensure a smooth transition from pre- to post-sale on behalf of the customer
- Contribute to improvements of Sales-owned demo account(s) aligned with sales strategy
- Create collateral, documentation, and other technical sales materials as needed
- Spend ~75% of time working on deals and ~25% creating collateral and documentation
Requirements
- Baseline: 2+ years of experience in roles requiring technical expertise, customer interaction, and problem-solving
- Availability to support typical working hours around 8 am to 5 pm EST (GMT-5)
- Ability to communicate technical ideas to both technical and non-technical prospects (verbal and written)
- Initiative to research, plan, and execute projects from start to completion
- Strategic, thoughtful, and empathetic decision-making
- Understanding of sales processes and sales strategy
- Experience working for a SaaS company or with a marketing automation platform
- Basic understanding of Computer Science principles
- Familiarity with NoSQL data structures and RESTful applications
- Experience working with templating languages like Liquid, Handlebars, or Jinja
Compensation
- Starting salary: $120,000 base USD (or equivalent in local currency)
