The ChatGPT for Work team works across research, engineering, product, and design to bring OpenAI’s technology to consumers and businesses. The team focuses on learning from deployment and distributing the benefits of AI while ensuring responsible and safe use.

About the role

You will help build and deploy the ChatGPT for Work product. The team shipped ChatGPT for Work in August last year. The role centers on three components of shipping enterprise products:

• Building a secure, governable, scalable foundation that earns customer trust
• Packaging OpenAI capabilities in ways that resonate with enterprise buyers
• Shipping 0→1 products that give users significantly amplified abilities in specific enterprise domains

Responsibilities

• Partner with researchers, engineers, product managers, and designers to bring new features and research capabilities to production
• Accelerate engineering productivity by empowering engineers with excellent tooling and systems
• Own reliability of systems built by the team, including participating in an on-call rotation to respond to critical incidents
• Build and rebuild production systems to deliver new product capabilities and handle increasing scale
• Own problems end-to-end and pick up missing knowledge necessary to deliver solutions

Requirements / Qualifications

• Deep understanding of engineering principles, industry best practices, and emerging technologies within your domain
• Meaningful experience building production systems and rebuilding systems to support new capabilities and scale
• Strong product sensibility and care about end-user experience
• Willingness to collaborate across research, product, design, and engineering
• Experience accelerating engineering workflows via tooling and systems (building tooling when off-the-shelf solutions are insufficient)
• Able to work humbly, help colleagues, and contribute to team success
• Startup founder or early-stage engineer experience is cited as a positive

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $245,000 – $385,000 (range may vary by market location, experience, and other factors)
