This is a 12-week summer 2026 internship on the Product Design team. You will work to understand user needs for existing products like Coinbase.com, Prime, Wallet, and contribute to large-scale, complex product problems. You will collaborate with researchers, designers, and product managers to craft thoughtful experiences that enable people to engage with the crypto economy. You do not need to be a cryptocurrency expert to apply, but a basic knowledge of cryptocurrency and Coinbase’s role is expected and an interest in learning more is required.

While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, they are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year; team and company offsites are held multiple times annually and attendance is expected and supported.

Responsibilities

• Work on a product design project with a product team and receive coaching from an intern manager to turn a product idea into a tangible user experience across mobile and/or web platforms.
• Engage in group design critiques to improve and get feedback on your work.
• Apply problem-solving skills and learn new methods of design thinking and human-centered approaches to solve complex and ambiguous problems.
• Craft and prototype visually polished experiences to socialize your solutions and work closely with engineering to implement final solutions.

Requirements

• Some experience using computer programs to design (examples given: Figma or Sketch).
• Interest in how people interact with products and building experiences users love.
• Self-motivated and committed to personal growth.
• Positive approach to problem solving.
• Basic knowledge of cryptocurrency and Coinbase’s role in the ecosystem (interest in learning more is acceptable).

Nice to haves

• Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in a design-related field or participating in a design extracurricular while enrolled in a bachelor’s program.
• Experience with or excitement to learn about crypto.

Compensation and additional details

• Pay Range listed: $60 — $60 USD.
