Product Owner - Capability API Access

Do you like to ensure a secure, compliant, and user-friendly API Access capability to our consumers, as a senior Product Owner who leads more than just the product? Then we're looking for you!

You will be end-to-end responsible for ensuring we offer a safe API Access capability that is consumed according to the standards and guidelines we set, and you will be able to monitor this and steer the organization. You will use your knowledge of complex IT environments combined with Identity and Access Management, IT audit, and banking channels to increase capability compliance and reduce cyber risk.

Responsibilities

• Act as Capability Owner for the API Access Capability within ABN AMRO CISO’s Identity & Access (I&A) grid.
• Define and maintain a vision and roadmap for the capability and translate this into products and services.
• Drive adoption and compliance of the API Access capability across the organisation; monitor usage and steering mechanisms.
• Functionally lead and influence teams and stakeholders (Product Owners, Domain Experts, Functional Specialists, Data Analysts, and IT Delivery) to deliver secure, compliant, and user-friendly services.
• Improve ways of working within the I&A grid and advance the I&A capability (strategic and functional leadership).
• Stay up to date on developments in Identity & Access Management, IT infrastructure, and online banking and share knowledge with colleagues and peers.

Requirements

Must have (hard skills)

• 8+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and complex IT environments.
• Strong understanding of IAM capabilities including identity management, authentication, access & authorization, and privileged access management.
• Knowledge of API protocols (e.g. REST, SOAP, OAuth).
• 3+ years of experience in functional leadership roles within an organisation (demonstrating authority without formal hierarchical power).
• 5+ years of experience as a Senior Product Owner with a proven track record in strategic roles.
• Experience and good understanding of directives and legislation such as DORA and the AI Act.

Must have (soft skills)

• Vision and strategic planning skills; ability to develop a capability vision and actionable roadmap.
• Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Pro-active with excellent communication skills.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as CISA and CISSP.
• Good security knowledge of main IT layers: operating systems, network infrastructure, and database management systems.
• Experience creating policy standards and guidelines for IAM.
• Knowledge of banking products and processes.

Working environment

• You will be part of the Workforce Enablement & Control team and work closely with Workforce IT delivery to ensure functional and technical robustness.
• The role serves the one digital bank objective by establishing fit-for-purpose IAM solutions and a centre of expertise for Identity & Access.
• The office in Amstelveen is your home office; the organisation supports a flexible, hybrid way of working.
