Product Owner - Capability API Access

Do you like to ensure a secure, compliant, and user-friendly API Access capability to our consumers, as a senior Product Owner who leads more than just the product? Then we're looking for you!

You will be end-to-end responsible for ensuring we offer a safe API Access capability that is consumed according to the standards and guidelines we set, and you will be able to monitor this and steer the organization. You will use your knowledge of complex IT environments combined with Identity and Access Management, IT audit, and banking channels to increase capability compliance and reduce Cyber Risk.

Responsibilities

• Act as Capability Owner for the API Access Capability within ABN AMRO CISO’s Identity and Access Grid.
• Define vision and strategic roadmap for the capability and translate it into products and services.
• Ensure the API Access capability is secure, compliant, user-friendly and consumed according to set standards and guidelines.
• Drive improvements in ways of working within the I&A grid and advance I&A capability adoption and compliance across the organisation.
• Monitor capability usage and compliance, and steer stakeholders and delivery teams to improve coverage and reduce cyber risk.
• Functionally lead and influence teams, domain experts and stakeholders across Workforce Enablement & Control and IT Delivery to meet functional requirements.

Requirements

Must have (hard skills):

• 8+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management and complex IT environments.
• Strong understanding of IAM capabilities including identity management, authentication, access & authorization, and privileged access management.
• Knowledge of API protocols (e.g. REST, SOAP, OAuth).
• 3+ years experience in functional leadership roles (demonstrating authority without formal hierarchical power).
• 5+ years of experience as a Senior Product Owner with a proven track record in a strategic role.
• Experience and good understanding of directives and legislation (for example DORA, AI Act).

Must have (soft skills):

• Vision and strategic planning: ability to develop a capability vision and actionable roadmap.
• Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Pro-active attitude with excellent communication skills.

Nice to haves:

• Relevant certifications such as CISA and CISSP.
• Good (security) knowledge of main IT layers such as operating systems, network infrastructure, and database management systems.
• Experience in creating policy standards and guidelines for IAM.
• Knowledge of banking products and processes.

Working environment

You will be part of the Workforce Enablement & Control team, a function that transforms Identity & Access into a centre of expertise. The team includes Product Owners, Capability Owners, Domain Experts, Functional Specialists and Data Analysts and collaborates with Workforce IT delivery to ensure technical robustness and functional fit.
