The Data Services Reporting department ensures that the information needs of internal and external parties at ABN AMRO regarding Finance and Risk are met. We achieve this by designing, building, and implementing solutions based on a good analysis of data needs!
We manage a data warehouse connected to more than 40 sources and serve many stakeholders. This creates a dynamic environment with many challenges in the field of data.
Our office is located in Amersfoort, and the atmosphere in our department is friendly and relaxed. Passion for your field, entrepreneurship, and expertise are important to us. We see our colleagues in the office for brainstorming sessions and team meetings one day a week, while we work from home on the other days.
Responsibilities
You will work as part of a Scrum team on user stories in Finance & Risk Mortgages. This includes reporting requirements from the European Central Bank, De Nederlandsche Bank, Autoriteit Financiële Markten, accountants, and internal auditors.
As a Python Engineer at Data Service Reporting, you will work in a Data Warehouse environment and contribute to various reporting chains. This involves a challenging environment with large datasets, complex logic, and dynamic changes due to changing laws and regulations. Specifically, you will work on a Python application based on the Django framework, which is an essential part of the reporting chains. You will also assist your colleagues with Python-related issues.
You are a Python Engineer with excellent analytical and technical skills who achieves great results together with your team! You ensure the implementation of solutions consistently, qualitatively, and maintainably according to standards and guidelines. Additionally, you have experience with setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines and planning and executing deployments. The number of Python developers is small within our department, and they have many different responsibilities. You will be involved in (web) software development and support colleagues with questions and advice regarding solutions in Python and related tools/libraries. We are looking for a full-stack developer who wishes to further develop their skills broadly.
Requirements
- Experience with Python as a software engineer (3 years)
- Experience developing in the Django Web Framework (2 years)
- Experience with SQL and data modeling (3 years)
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and version control tools (Git)
- Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
- Experience working in agile teams (SCRUM) and being a true team player;
- Knowledge of architecture, data warehouse concepts, and the Kimball methodology;
- Able to work independently and think problem-solving
- Academic or HBO level of education and work;
- Excellent spoken and written Dutch and English;
- A financial background is a plus.
