About the team
OpenAI’s Revenue Operations team equips and enables the Go To Market (GTM) organization (Sales, Solutions, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and Partnerships) to help customers deploy and adopt OpenAI products. The team focuses on creating systems and workflows that scale and remain auditable and compliant.
Role summary
This execution-heavy, builder role partners with Financial Engineering, Finance Platform Technology, and Order Management teams to implement Order-to-Cash (OtC) solutions. The primary charter is order-management logic, financial integrations, and compliance-ready automations that take deals from Opportunity close through invoicing and revenue recognition. You will deliver production-ready Salesforce configurations and custom code, and occasionally support CPQ work as needed. The position uses a hybrid model (3 days/week in the San Francisco office) and relocation assistance is offered to eligible new employees.
Responsibilities
- Build custom order-to-cash solutions in Salesforce: develop order-capture objects, fulfillment triggers, financial approval workflows, and entitlement logic to move deals cleanly from Opportunity close through invoicing and revenue recognition.
- Engineer integrations with finance and billing systems: connect Salesforce to ERPs, tax engines, billing platforms, CLM, and e-signature tools to keep data accurate and auditable across the revenue lifecycle.
- Implement scoped technical outcomes: translate requirements into production-ready Flows, validation rules, Platform Events, and Apex code where needed for scale or performance.
- Test, troubleshoot, and document: own QA for new builds, resolve production issues quickly, and maintain documentation aligned with Copado-driven change-management, SOX/SOC2 controls, and deployment best practices.
- Partner cross-functionally: collaborate daily with FinEng, Fin Systems, Order Management, Sales Ops, Billing, and Legal Ops to ensure SKUs, pricebooks, and workflows remain accurate, compliant, and resilient.
Requirements
- Advanced Salesforce development experience (Apex, async patterns, APIs) and strong Salesforce data model knowledge across opportunity, quote, order, and billing domains.
- Proven experience designing and implementing integrations using REST, Platform Events, and data synchronization patterns between Salesforce and external systems.
- Quote-to-Cash and finance-system experience: familiarity with CPQ and order-management objects, product catalog governance, consumption- vs subscription-based pricing, tax & billing integrations, and data reconciliation with downstream ERPs.
- Execution and quality focus: ability to build, test, and deploy scoped solutions in regulated, change-controlled environments while keeping integrations intact and documentation audit-ready (Copado, SOX/SOC2 awareness).
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills; experience partnering with finance and operations teams to design resilient revenue workflows at scale.
- Nice-to-have: Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II, Application Architect) or prior experience in AI-driven or high-growth SaaS businesses.
Benefits
- Base pay shown: $228,000 (offers equity; total comp may include bonuses and additional components).
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer HSA contributions.
- Pre-tax accounts: Health FSA, Dependent Care FSA, commuter benefits.
- 401(k) with employer match.
- Paid parental leave, medical and caregiver leave; flexible PTO for exempt employees (and up to 15 days for non-exempt).
- 13+ paid company holidays and additional company office closures; paid sick/safe time per local law.
- Mental health and wellness support; employer-paid basic life and disability coverage.
- Annual learning and development stipend.
- Daily meals in offices and meal delivery credits as eligible.
- Relocation support for eligible employees.
