The Developer Productivity team builds internal tools and support systems to improve engineer productivity across ClickHouse. The team focuses on CI/CD, end-to-end test automation, an internal CLI for ClickHouse Cloud, and rollout automation for upgrading thousands of ClickHouse clusters using frameworks such as Temporal.io. This role emphasizes tooling, automation, and hands-on execution to support continuous delivery of the ClickHouse Cloud platform and requires close collaboration with core database and cloud infrastructure teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build robust, scalable automation and processes for rollouts and end-to-end tests
- Improve and extend the internal command line tool
- Work closely with cloud and core database teams to identify areas of improvement for internal tooling
- Coordinate and execute technical steps to deploy, validate, and monitor major version upgrades in ClickHouse Cloud
- Educate and support other teams using internal tools
- Participate in on-call rotation and investigate issues in ClickHouse Cloud production environments
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems
- Software development experience in Go (or experience with another programming language and willingness to learn Go)
- Passion for developer experience and automation
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience leading and shipping large-scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams
- Strong problem solving and production debugging skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and partnering with the business
- High level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability
- Experience with ClickHouse preferred
Compensation
- New York Area / San Francisco Area: $157,000 - $232,000 USD (salary range shown)
- General US Remote: $125,600 - $185,500 USD (salary range shown)
- Los Angeles, CA / Washington, DC (OTE Range): $141,300 - $208,800 USD
