About the Team
OpenAI’s mission is to build safe artificial general intelligence (AGI) which benefits all of humanity. The Go To Market (GTM) team helps customers learn how to leverage and deploy OpenAI’s AI products across their businesses. The GTM organization includes Sales, Solutions, Support, Marketing, and Partnerships.
Role overview
As part of the GTM Strategy & Operations team, you will guide GTM strategy and drive operational efficiency for the Startups segment. You will serve as a business partner to sales leadership: driving operating cadences, delivering data-driven insights, and leading high-impact projects to accelerate growth. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Enablement, Data, Growth Strategy, and GTM Systems.
Location & working model
This role is based in New York City. OpenAI uses a hybrid model (three days in the office per week) and offers relocation assistance to new employees.
Responsibilities
- Drive core operating rhythms including forecasting, pipeline reviews, top account reviews, and monthly/quarterly business reviews
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, surface risks, and highlight growth opportunities
- Partner with sales leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to develop go-to-market strategy
- Manage planning efforts including territory design, resource allocation, and target setting
- Lead initiatives that enhance seller productivity and optimize funnel performance
- Collaborate with GTM Systems to assess, implement, and optimize sales processes and tooling
- Work closely with the data team to ensure data accuracy and availability for revenue-related activities
Requirements
- 7+ years experience in revenue operations or strategy at a high-growth, technology company
- Proficiency in Salesforce.com and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience building territories, comp plans, and setting quotas for GTM teams
- Exceptional project management skills, with experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Strong communication skills and executive presence
- An understanding of the AI landscape, OpenAI applications, and the customer problems they solve
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, work autonomously, and manage multiple projects with broad ownership and prioritization
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to operate with high horsepower
Benefits & compensation
- Listed compensation tier: $265K (role also offers equity and other compensation components)
- Base pay may vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
