Information about the position

As a Security Engineer focusing on technical security engineering challenges, you will be part of the Group Security function, which supports the whole organisation. As a Cyber Defense team, we adopt or develop technological solutions to protect the security of Vinted members and employees and to secure the organisation against external and internal threats. To achieve this, we provide consultations, incident response, threat intelligence, security awareness and security-enhancing technologies and services to the organisation.

In this position, you’ll:

  • Lead and participate in the lifecycle of security incident response, from detection and analysis to containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Develop and implement detection engineering strategies, creating and fine-tuning alerts to identify malicious activity across environment.
  • Design, build, and maintain security automation and tooling that automate incident response workflows, enrich alerts, and integrate the security stack.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a coordinated and effective response to security events.
  • Track, research, and experiment with the latest tactics, techniques and procedures for attacking and defending on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers on the team, sharing your expertise and helping to level up collective capabilities.
  • Create, track and iterate on metrics that showcase actionable insights to leadership across Vinted.

About you:

  • Hands-on experience in engineering roles, with a strong focus on infrastructure security.
  • Proficient in software development (e.g., Python, Go) and have experience building security-focused tools.
  • Practical experience building and scaling security programs, including SOCs, IR teams, and on-call rotations.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly triage and investigate security incidents
  • Can communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and work well in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent at communicating in spoken and written English.

The salary range for this position is €4,975 - € 8,842 gross per month.
