The Community You Will Join

The Community Support Platform team keeps our hosts and guests supported throughout the entire Airbnb experience. At its core, the CS Data Platform team provides the trusted data foundation and metrics for the most important data across offline and online consumption, empowering operations, analytics, engineering, product, and leadership teams with data they can trust.

The Difference You Will Make

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will bring a unique lens to our data strategy and provide in-depth technical expertise to the team. We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in data modeling, metric development, and large-scale distributed data processing frameworks like Trino and Spark. Using these tools, along with first-class internal data tooling, you will scale product, business operations, analytics, and AI/ML team’s capabilities to unlock insights and make data driven decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and launch efficient & reliable data models and pipelines in partnership with Data Engineering
  • Develop frameworks and tools to scale insight generation to meet critical business and product requirements
  • Design and implement metrics and dimensions to enable analysis and predictive modeling
  • Design and develop dashboards or other data resources to enable self-serve data consumption
  • Define logging needs and participate in architecture designs
  • Collaborate and build strong partnerships with fellow Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Product Engineers, and Business Partners
  • Influence the trajectory of data in decision making
  • Improve trust in our data by championing for data quality across the stack
  • Define and share best practices on metric, dimension, and data model development for analytics use

Requirements / Your Expertise

  • Passion for high data quality and scaling data science work
  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong skills in SQL and distributed system optimization (e.g., Spark, Trino, Hive)
  • Experience in at least one programming language for data analysis (e.g., Python, R)
  • Experience in schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • Experience with Superset and/or Tableau
  • Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
  • Detail-oriented and excited to learn new skills and tools

Nice to Have

  • Experience with an ETL framework like Airflow
  • An eye for design when it comes to dashboards and visualization tools
  • Familiarity with experimentation and machine learning techniques

Location / Work Policy

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Compensation & How We'll Take Care of You

  • Base pay range: $177,000β€”$208,000 USD
  • This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits. Base pay is dependent on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
