Generative AI is being applied across supercomputing, higher education, manufacturing, semiconductors, energy storage, climate science and agriculture. This role focuses on promoting adoption of GPU-accelerated computing solutions—including machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI—within scientific research communities, working closely with leading science and research institutes in Japan.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside research teams worldwide adopting NVIDIA's GenAI software for scientific data and models.
- Debug, profile, and recommend optimizations for model training, scaling and deployment.
- Provide customer feedback to engineering teams to improve NVIDIA's GenAI software for scientific research and discovery.
- Participate in hands-on GenAI hackathons and workshops to drive adoption of NVIDIA’s GenAI software stack in the scientific community.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and technical presentation skills in Japanese. Business-level English is also required.
- Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related engineering field (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
- 5+ years hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and running AI/ML models or LLMs using popular frameworks (PyTorch or similar) and languages (C++, Python).
- Deep understanding of generative AI model architectures (e.g., GPT-x, LLaMA, MoE).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a globally distributed team.
Ways to Stand Out
- Expertise in deploying large-scale training and inference pipelines.
- Hands-on experience customizing AI models for multi-modal scientific data.
- Contributions to cornerstone research papers or open-source projects involving GenAI/AI for science applications.
- Experience integrating simulation workflows, AI/GenAI models, and running them on large-scale HPC systems.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range (determined by location, experience, and internal pay parity):
- Level 3: 124,000 USD - 195,500 USD
- Level 4: 144,000 USD - 230,000 USD
- Eligibility for equity and benefits.
