The Business Technology team manages a complex and innovative ecosystem of products and applications. The team is responsible for driving key outcomes for all stakeholders who rely on Airbnb's Financial Information. Work is at scale — hundreds of currencies, thousands of tax authorities, millions of users, and billions of dollars and transaction volume. The approach is to build platform solutions to help the company grow by bringing new markets and demographics, be compliant, optimize costs and enable new business initiatives to thrive.
The Difference You Will Make
- Ensuring taxes are charged, collected, remitted and reported correctly
- Manage all things cash (reconciliation, hedging, treasury)
- Ensure every transaction is accounted correctly and ready for audit and investor reporting
- Provide critical data and metrics
- Provide top-to-bottom insurance protection for guests and hosts
- Provide critical enterprise applications to employees (e.g., ERP, Equity)
Responsibilities
- Engage with business partners and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions
- Define functional requirements, process flow diagrams and actionable tasks to deliver scalable solutions
- Act as subject matter expert (SME) and trusted advisor for processes related to global taxes
- Execute full lifecycle software development using Out of the Box configurations, Vertex configurations, BML scripting for Config rules, Oracle’s APIs and cross-functional modules of Oracle Fusion applications
- Create logical and physical data models, data maps and system entity relationship models
- Design, configure, code, deploy, maintain, and improve end-to-end applications using Python, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL scripts, JavaScript, automation of testing and configurations
- Develop unit tests, adhere to coding standards and best practices, and implement cohesive products
- Provide hands-on technical expertise to advise on solutions, including standard products and features
- Implement business solutions for change requests, maintenance, stabilization and new development
- Design and plan production releases, and coordinate release cycles between business and development teams
Requirements / Your Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of working experience on implementations with middleware integration
- Expertise architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems and integrations across multiple applications
- Experience in SaaS business applications including Oracle SaaS/PaaS Order to Cash, Tax, Payment and Invoice Management
- Hands-on experience and thorough understanding of Oracle Cloud/On-Prem Customer Master Data Management, Financial Accounting Hub (FAH), Subledger Accounting (SLA) and transaction integrity across modules
- Expertise in tax systems Vertex, Sabrix & Avalara configurations and integration with upstream platforms for accurate tax calculations
- Experience in integrations between Oracle Standard cloud or PaaS and platform systems using XML/SOAP/REST APIs and middleware
- Hands-on experience with Oracle SOA 12C, Oracle Service Bus, BPEL, FBDI, BICS and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC)
- Knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design
- Knowledge of Python programming and UNIX shell scripting
- Knowledge of Big Data analytics, data warehousing, data visualization and analysis
- Knowledge of SQL/No-SQL databases, Superset, business intelligence systems and data analysis tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; dedicated, results oriented and hardworking in delivering business value

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager. While Remote Eligible, you must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. How We'll Take Care of You / Compensation
Job titles may span more than one career level. Actual base pay depends on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
Pay Range
$145,000—$162,000 USD
