NVIDIA is searching for a highly motivated CAD Engineer to join the Advanced Technologies group. You will develop tools that help improve productivity of custom circuit designers worldwide. The role involves developing automation and support for custom-design EDA flows, working with cutting-edge process technologies, and collaborating with designers and tool vendors. A successful candidate will have a solid electrical engineering background with an in-depth understanding of circuits, layouts and VLSI design, and enjoy writing code to automate design processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support component libraries for advanced process technologies, including technology files, symbols, gates and pcells, and support various netlisters.
- Install, configure and support foundry PDKs.
- Maintain the custom design environment used by custom schematic and mask designers.
- Write scripts using Perl, Python, and Cadence SKILL (and use Tcl as needed).
- Support and maintain CAD tools used by IC designers, including Cadence Virtuoso, IC-Manage, HSPICE, ADE, various simulation tools and Verilog / SystemVerilog flows.
- Work with CAD tool vendors to evaluate new tools, solve bugs, and improve usability.
- Develop infrastructure to support design work in new process technologies.
- Provide development and end-user support; collaborate with designers and stakeholders.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of experience, or M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of experience.
- Basic understanding of MOSFET device behavior, CMOS layout, and VLSI design.
- Excellent programming skills and passion for automating design processes.
- Experience with Perl, Cadence SKILL, Python, and Tcl.
- Experience supporting EDA tools and flows (Virtuoso, IC-Manage, HSPICE, ADE, simulation tools, Verilog/SystemVerilog).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; passionate about providing excellent end-user support.
Compensation & Additional Info
- Base salary ranges provided by NVIDIA:
- Level 4: 168,000 USD - 264,500 USD
- Level 5: 196,000 USD - 310,500 USD
- You will also be eligible for equity and benefits (link provided by NVIDIA).
