NVIDIA is seeking a motivated CAD Engineer to join the Advanced Technology Group to support installation and customization of foundry techfiles, provide expert support and debugging for designers, and develop flows and scripts to improve productivity for custom circuit designers. The role involves both development and support with frequent interaction with designers, foundries, and EDA tool vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and support foundry techfiles.
  • Perform expert debugging of design, tool, and techfile errors and coordinate resolutions with designers, foundry support teams, and EDA partners.
  • Custom edit foundry techfiles to define and implement NVIDIA design methodologies.
  • Support and maintain CAD tools used by IC designers, including Cadence Virtuoso, IC-Manage, DRC/LVS verification tools, extraction tools, and SPICE simulation tools.
  • Work with CAD tool vendors to identify and resolve bugs, improve usability, and evaluate new tools and features.
  • Develop infrastructure to support design work in new process technologies.
  • Write scripts using Perl and Cadence SKILL.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience); M.S. preferred.
  • 5+ years of work experience.
  • Basic understanding of MOSFET device behavior, CMOS layout, and VLSI design.
  • Excellent programming skills; experience with Perl and Cadence SKILL.
  • Expertise in Calibre to support, enhance, and debug foundry DRC and Antenna techfiles.
  • Implement NVIDIA-specific DFM/DRC rules using Calibre's SVRF language.
  • Add NVIDIA-specific voltage-dependent modifications/rules using Calibre's SVRF.
  • Analyze Calibre runs to identify long poles and performance issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for providing excellent end-user support.

  • Base salary range (depends on level, location, and experience):
    • Level 3: 136,000 USD - 212,750 USD
    • Level 4: 168,000 USD - 264,500 USD
