The Deep Learning Compiler (DLC) team focuses on developing compiler optimizations to deliver leading inference performance across various domains such as large language models, generative AIs, recommendation systems, image classification, and speech recognition. The compiler supports both Ahead-of-Time and Just-in-Time compilation across data centers, personal devices, automotive, and robotics.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze deep learning networks and develop compiler optimization algorithms.
  • Collaborate with deep learning software framework teams and hardware architecture teams to accelerate next-generation deep learning software.
  • Define public APIs, optimize performance, analyze compiler infrastructure techniques for neural networks, and engage in general software engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant work or research experience in performance analysis and compiler optimizations.
  • Ability to work independently, lead projects, and define project goals and scope.
  • Excellent skills in C/C++ and Python programming, debugging, performance analysis, and test design.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a dynamic, product-oriented team.

Ways to Stand Out

  • Proficiency in CPU and/or GPU architectures; CUDA or OpenCL programming experience.
  • Experience with embedded systems or constrained resource environments, cross compilation.
  • Knowledge of MLIR, XLA, TVM, LLVM, deep learning models, and frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Experience generating GPU kernels for high performance and fast build times.
  • Mentorship experience of junior engineers and interns is a bonus.
