Shape Eneco’s path to climate neutrality by building the single source of truth that powers mission-critical decisions across Assets, Trading, and Finance.
This is a high-impact, strategic analytics role with end-to-end ownership in a complex energy ecosystem — connecting operational reliability and forecasting accuracy directly to commercial and financial outcomes.
Why choose Eneco?
At Eneco, we are accelerating the energy transition. With our ambitious One Planet Plan, we aim to be the first energy company to become climate neutral by 2035. That means no more reliance on fossil fuels — and a full focus on smarter, cleaner, and more resilient energy systems.
We are transforming how we measure and steer our Mission-Critical chain — the end-to-end system connecting our assets, finance, and trading operations. This chain underpins both the reliability and profitability of Eneco’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and Trading stack. By joining this initiative, you’ll directly shape how Eneco monitors, understands, and improves the performance of its MC ecosystem — enabling data-driven decisions at every level, from operational teams to the CEO.
Role overview
We’re seeking a Senior Data Analyst to drive analytics for the Mission-Critical (MC) performance domain within Eneco’s Tech organization. You will create a trusted performance framework that links operational reliability, forecast accuracy, and trading results to financial and strategic outcomes. Working closely with Product, Tech, Finance, and Trading stakeholders, you’ll develop the single source of truth that drives structured business reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is not a dashboarding-only role — it requires strategic thinking, technical depth, and business acumen to drive tangible results.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the single source of truth for Mission-Critical performance across Assets, VPP, Finance, and Trade, ensuring scalability, consistency, and data quality.
- Translate vague or evolving business questions into clear, measurable analytics deliverables; guide stakeholders in problem definition, prioritization, and success measurement.
- Act as a strategic partner to the Product Manager in defining health metrics (KPIs, OKRs, North Star metrics), challenge assumptions, and ensure metrics are visualised and tracked effectively.
- Identify and discover new metrics and reliable data sources within Eneco’s data landscape; collaborate with Data Engineers to design and build required data models and pipelines.
- Share regular actionable insights with stakeholders across Assets, VPP, Finance, Trade, and Product, including leadership, to drive informed decisions and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a strong quantitative or technical focus.
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, analytics engineering, or product analytics.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with dbt or similar data-modelling tools.
- Experience in data visualization and dashboarding, preferably Power BI.
- Experience working in cloud environments such as Snowflake or Databricks.
- Proven ability to connect operational metrics to commercial outcomes.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, including experience presenting to leadership.
- Experience in energy, forecasting, trading, or performance analytics is a strong advantage.
Benefits
- Gross annual salary between €85.000 and €120.000 (including FlexBudget, 8% holiday allowance, and depending on your role a bonus or collective profit sharing).
- FlexBudget: paid out, used to buy extra holiday days, or saved.
- Personal and professional growth support.
- Hybrid working: 40% at the office, 40% from home, and 20% flexibly. With manager approval, you may work abroad (within approved countries) up to 3 weeks/year, max 2 consecutively.
