Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and apply data science solutions to improve advertiser experience and optimize Reddit's ad platform and marketplace performance.
  • Analyze large-scale datasets to detect trends, patterns, and insights aimed at enhancing advertising effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define product requirements and translate these into data science solutions.
  • Develop machine learning models and data science methods for anomaly detection, prediction, and pattern recognition.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations within the organization.
  • Stay current on the latest advancements in machine learning and data science.
  • Mentor and guide junior data scientists.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, causal inference, and experimental design.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing and analysis using tools like Spark, Hadoop, Hive; knowledge of BigQuery is a plus.
  • Proficient in Python or R; experienced with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Skilled with SQL and relational databases.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for Reddit and the online advertising industry.

  • Experience with online advertising and ad tech.
  • Experience with causal inference and A/B testing.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or publications in relevant conferences or journals.

Base pay range: $190,800 - $267,100 USD per year
