Data Science at Coinbase partners with Product, Engineering, and Design to influence roadmaps and better understand users, using experimentation, analytics, and advanced modeling to produce insights impacting the company’s bottom line.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop pricing vision, roadmap, and priorities
- Design and develop pricing models and evaluation frameworks to determine optimal pricing strategy
- Develop causal models to isolate impact of fee changes using experiments and observational data
- Initiate, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data models with outstanding craftsmanship
- Synthesize findings and recommendations clearly and communicate to senior leadership
Requirements
- Demonstrate core cultural values: clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution
- PhD preferred, or Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, or related field, with 5+ years relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pricing experimentation, data analysis, and statistical modeling
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis and statistical modeling languages
- Ability to independently create analytics project plans and oversee large/complex projects spanning multiple teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for explaining complex data to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
Nice to Haves
- Experience applying causal inference techniques outside controlled experiments
- Experience working at or on a crypto-focused company or crypto exchange
