We are seeking a Senior Deep Learning Research Engineer to join an advanced AI strategy team at NVIDIA. The role partners with NVIDIA's deep learning engineering teams and external strategic partners to surface, define, and help implement product and system-level strategies that unite the latest AI research with future hardware designs. The team contributes across the entire machine learning lifecycle: conceptualization, applied research, engineering for optimized training and inference, and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Work with the latest research and industry partners to identify areas that stretch NVIDIA hardware and software.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to identify key gaps across AI systems infrastructure, from kernel-level optimizations to data center scale deployments.
- Rapid prototyping, architecting, and crafting new features.
- Work with engineering and research teams across NVIDIA to ensure successful transition of concepts into the NVIDIA stack.
- Conceptualize solutions across multiple facets including data center designs, networking, model architectures, NVIDIA stack integration, and deployment scenarios.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of modern Deep Neural Networks, Large Language Models, multimodal models, and scaling techniques.
- 10+ years proven experience in deep learning systems, infrastructure, and working with NVIDIA GPUs.
- Excellent C/C++ and Python programming skills, including software design, debugging, performance analysis, and test design.
- Strong foundation in CPU and/or GPU architecture and knowledge of high-performance computing and distributed programming.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in dynamic and distributed teams.
- Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to envision beyond current technical limits and contribute to full-stack software strategy for AI and systems.
Ways to stand out
- Experience architecting or developing large-scale deep learning distributed systems.
- Deep knowledge of CPU and GPU architecture.
- GPU programming experience (CUDA).
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD (final base salary determined by location, experience, and comparable employees).
- Eligible for equity and benefits.
