Role overview

As a Senior Engineering Manager within the Assets domain, you will lead the charge in bridging OT (Operational Technology), IoT, and IT. You will guide the strategic and technical direction for critical systems behind Eneco’s infrastructure — including wind farms, solar fields, heating grids and gas plants. You will manage engineering managers who lead multidisciplinary teams (SCADA engineers, edge computing specialists, backend developers) to create scalable and secure platforms that collect, process and analyze real-time field data.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a group of engineering managers and ensure alignment with the overall technology vision.
  • Guide cross-functional teams working on OT and IoT systems, including SCADA, edge computing, and data integration.
  • Drive the architecture and development of secure and scalable platforms for real-time asset data processing.
  • Collaborate with product leadership to align business goals with technical execution.
  • Enable innovation, share best practices and drive standardization across teams.
  • Manage budgets, resources and performance while ensuring timely delivery of impactful solutions.
  • Create an environment that fosters professional growth, ownership and technical excellence.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, with a solid background in OT/Assets environments (e.g. power plants, wind farms, heating networks, solar assets).
  • Proven track record in leading engineering organizations, including managing managers.
  • Experience with IoT, edge computing, and large-scale infrastructure systems.
  • Experience or familiarity with SCADA systems and OT domain challenges.
  • Experience driving system architecture and building secure, scalable platforms for real-time data processing and data integration.
  • Strong communicator able to operate across technical and non-technical stakeholders; able to inspire, challenge and grow technical teams.
  • Passionate about the energy transition and building systems that make tangible impact.
