Role summary

As a Senior Engineering Manager within the Assets domain, you will lead the charge in bridging the worlds of OT (Operational Technology), IoT, and IT. You will guide the strategic and technical direction for critical systems behind Eneco’s infrastructure, from wind farms and solar fields to heating grids and gas plants. You will manage engineering managers who lead multidisciplinary teams consisting of SCADA engineers, edge computing specialists, and backend developers. Together, your teams build scalable, secure platforms that collect, process, and analyze real-time data from the field to make our energy systems smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a group of engineering managers, ensuring alignment with the overall technology vision
  • Guide cross-functional teams working on OT and IoT systems, including SCADA, edge computing, and data integration
  • Drive the architecture and development of secure and scalable platforms for real-time asset data processing
  • Collaborate with product leadership to align business goals with technical execution
  • Enable innovation, share best practices, and drive standardization across teams
  • Manage budgets, resources, and performance while ensuring timely delivery of impactful solutions
  • Create an environment that fosters professional growth, ownership, and technical excellence

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, with a solid background in OT/assets environments (e.g., power plants, wind farms, heating networks, solar assets)
  • Proven track record in leading engineering organizations, including managing managers
  • Experience with IoT, edge computing, and large-scale infrastructure systems
  • Experience with SCADA and working with SCADA engineers
  • Experience with backend development and data integration for real-time systems
  • Strong skills in system architecture and building secure, scalable platforms
  • Strong communicator who can operate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Able to inspire, challenge, and grow technical teams
  • Passionate about the energy transition and developing systems that make a real impact

  • Gross annual salary between €110.000 and €170.000 (including FlexBudget and 8% holiday allowance; depending on role a bonus or collective profit sharing may apply)
