Details

We are looking for a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) specialist in switch system design and datacenter networking to support NVIDIA's AI platforms. This role focuses on Ethernet and InfiniBand switching, datacenter system and network design for AI computing, and serving as the technical liaison between engineering and customers to deliver high-performance AI datacenter solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical support for integrating NVIDIA switches into OEM partner solutions; resolve complex hardware, software, and deployment challenges.
  • Serve as the technical lead for NVIDIA switching products, partnering closely with sales/account teams to deliver AI datacenter solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customer engineers, architects, and decision-makers at key enterprise AI accounts.
  • Identify customer architectures and translate evolving requirements into actionable insights for product and solution development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal engineering, product, and support teams to ensure alignment and execution excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in system design or technical customer support in the switching and routing industry.
  • Deep understanding of datacenter hardware including servers, storage systems, and network devices.
  • Extensive experience debugging Ethernet or InfiniBand switches/routers and L2–L4 network protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet switching and routing protocols, InfiniBand protocol, RDMA, RoCE, NICs, cables, etc.
  • Experience with switching OS environments (examples in posting: SONiC, Cumulus, MLNX_OS) is desirable.
  • Programming skills: C/C++, Python, and Ansible.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask in fast-paced environments, and excellent communication/collaboration skills for customer-facing engagement.

Preferred / Ways to stand out

  • Experience integrating silicon and networking OS into partner solutions.
  • Experience with switch rollout in large-scale datacenters.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SONiC, Cumulus, MLNX_OS or equivalent switching OS.
  • Proficiency with C/C++, Python, and Ansible for automation and integrations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range by level:
    • Level 4: 160,000 USD - 253,000 USD
    • Level 5: 192,000 USD - 304,750 USD
