Details

At SentinelOne you will sit at the intersection of customers and product, shipping integrations, fixes, and platform improvements required by customer deployments. Your work will touch many products and services across the company, including the data pipeline, the Singularity Data Lake, and EventDB (a highly scalable columnar database ingesting petabytes of data per day). You will split time between customer engineering teams and our codebases, translating ambiguous requirements into shipped solutions and contributing upstream to the core product.

Responsibilities

  • Full-stack software development (primarily React and Java): implement customer-driven features, fixes, and integrations across multiple codebases; write robust tests and ensure code security.
  • Partner with customers and field teams to gather requirements, understand environments and constraints, and translate ambiguous asks into clear technical strategies.
  • Design and deliver integrations that connect SentinelOne products into customer environments; collaborate with customer engineers during integration and enablement.
  • Produce runbooks, integration documentation, and executive-level technical communications to enable customer self-sufficiency.
  • Contribute fixes and improvements upstream in the core platform; collaborate with platform teams to ensure long-term supportability.
  • Architect end-to-end solutions for complex, loosely defined problems, document trade-offs and implementation details, and review technical specifications.
  • Champion code quality through code reviews, with attention to security and efficiency.
  • Respond to ad-hoc customer and internal escalations (note: no regular on-call rotation required); participate in team syncs and collaboration.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of engineering experience with a solid computer science background, including both backend and frontend work.
  • Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems or data-intensive services; comfortable with CAP theorem considerations and selecting appropriate data structures.
  • Track record of leading substantial pieces of work end-to-end under ambiguity with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working directly with customers or senior stakeholders to shape technical solutions.
  • Deep proficiency in at least one production language (Java strongly preferred; 3+ years) and working comfort in at least one additional language.
  • Comfortable working across multiple codebases and picking up new tools as required.
  • Familiarity or experience with modern Java (lambdas), React, TypeScript, Kafka, Redis, GraphQL, Node.js, and other platform technologies.
  • Strong bias toward concise, readable code and pragmatic delivery (shipping well-thought-out 80% solutions when appropriate).
  • Domain familiarity in cybersecurity (SIEM, EDR/XDR, log pipelines, detection engineering, threat hunting) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills for tickets, design docs, runbooks, and executive briefings; mentorship and collaboration skills.

Benefits

  • Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
  • Flexible time off, paid holidays, paid sick time, gender-neutral parental leave, and grandparent leave
  • Medical, dental, vision coverage; 401(k) with company match; life and disability insurance; FSA options
  • Voluntary benefits (hospital, accident, critical illness); Employee Assistance Program (EAP); legal and pet insurance options
  • Global business travel medical insurance
  • Home office allowance and mobile phone reimbursement
  • Wellness coach, gym/wellness reimbursement, fertility coverage, adoption & surrogacy reimbursement

Compensation

  • Base salary range for this U.S. role: $132,000—$182,000 USD (varies by candidate location)

Additional Notes

  • SentinelOne participates in the E-Verify Program for U.S.-based roles.
  • The role emphasizes customer-facing engineering, upstream product contributions, and work across distributed, data-intensive systems.
