Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company with a global user base for Grafana and related observability tooling. The synthetics monitoring squad builds and operates Grafana Cloud’s synthetic monitoring product (used to run billions of synthetic tests each month). This is a remote role open to applicants in USA and Canadian time zones.

Responsibilities

• Work primarily on Grafana Cloud’s synthetic monitoring application and potentially adjacent projects like Grafana Cloud k6 and k6 studio.
• Deliver new features end-to-end, measure impact, iterate based on results.
• Lead and manage projects through ideation, planning, development, execution, and delivery.
• Collaborate with product management and UX design to create intuitive customer experiences.
• Interact directly with customers to collect feedback and advocate for customer needs during development.
• Contribute to a positive team culture, fostering collaboration and psychological safety.
• Work effectively in a fully remote engineering organization, communicating clearly and transparently.

Requirements / What Makes You a Great Fit

• Experience building integrated frontend applications with React and TypeScript, following modern patterns and best practices.
• Motivated self-starter with a bias toward action and strong customer focus.
• Pragmatic approach to complex problems: able to break down challenges, deliver MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for fully remote squad-based work.
• Familiarity with metrics collection, visualization, and alerting concepts is a plus.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is a plus.
• Experience across the stack or familiarity with backend languages like Go is a plus.
• Experience with or being a user of Grafana, k6, or other observability tools is a bonus.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base compensation range (United States listing) for this role: CAD 164,000 - CAD 205,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset. Roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
