Details

Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company with a global user base for its observability tools. The Product Marketing team sits inside R&D alongside Product and Engineering and is responsible for communicating product value through training, website content, videos, social media, sales materials and more. The team is building a product knowledge base that is effortless to contribute to, always up-to-date, and powered by AI to automate inputs, organization, and outputs. This role offers the opportunity to create an AI-driven product and work cross-functionally on a small, impactful team.

Responsibilities

  • Influence roadmap and own career objectives.
  • Deliver new features, iterate using real results, and ship incrementally.
  • Use AI tools daily; incorporate LLMs/AI into products and workflows.
  • Contribute to open-source projects and embrace open-source culture.
  • Mentor and support other team members; participate in design discussions and collaborate with the team.
  • Work independently within a remote-first engineering organization; communicate effectively via video calls and asynchronous tools.
  • Learn the cloud product and the codebase of a large distributed system.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with front-end and fullstack technologies, including React and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with Webpack and JavaScript testing frameworks.
  • Back-end experience using Go and scripting languages (or similar languages).
  • Practical experience building or integrating AI-driven workflows and using LLMs/AI tools is expected; experience building AI-driven workflows is a major plus.
  • Experience developing and operating software that runs in Kubernetes.
  • Experience writing clean, robust, and performant software that is maintainable by others.
  • Experience with CI/CD to ensure quality, support scale, and enable rapid iteration.
  • Experience delivering projects end-to-end: gathering requirements, ideation, and shipping products to customers in a self-driven way.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and an independent, motivated, bias-towards-action mindset.
  • Pragmatism and the ability to break down complex problems to achieve short feedback loops (MVPs → iterate).

Bonus Points

  • Prior use of Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles (including on-call or hobby/homelab use).
  • Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems, or a desire to learn them.
  • Familiarity with being on-call and performing operations/SRE tasks or with infrastructure as code.
