NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Gen AI Algorithms Engineer to design, develop, and optimize AI solutions for diverse real-world problems. This role focuses on deep learning, large language models (LLMs), and their multimodal variants. The engineer will collaborate with internal partners, users, and the open-source community to implement and optimize AI algorithms, define APIs, and build coherent toolsets and libraries. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a product-centric environment are required.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the open-source NeMo framework
  • Develop and maintain state-of-the-art generative AI models, including LLMs and multimodal LLMs
  • Work on large-scale distributed systems for AI training and inference deployment, including data fetching, preprocessing, orchestrating, training, tuning, and serving models
  • Analyze, influence, and improve AI/DL libraries, frameworks, and APIs
  • Research, prototype, and develop tools and infrastructure pipelines
  • Publish innovative results on GitHub and scientific publications

Requirements

  • PhD or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years industry experience in Computer Science, AI, Applied Math, or related field
  • Strong mathematical fundamentals and AI/DL algorithm skills
  • Excellent programming, debugging, performance analysis, test design, and documentation skills
  • Experience with AI/DL frameworks such as PyTorch and JAX
  • Excellent Python programming skills

Ways to stand out

  • Prior experience with generative AI techniques applied to LLMs and multimodal variants (image, video, speech etc.)
  • Experience with large-scale AI training, compute system concepts (latency, throughput, pipelining, multiprocessing), and performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with inference and deployment environments such as TRT, ONNX, Triton
  • Knowledge of GPU/CPU architecture and numerical software
