NVIDIA is looking for a Sr. Global Commodity Manager to join our Global Commodity Management Group. The ideal candidate will own strategic sourcing and commodity management of Semiconductors in the Boards and Systems Supply Chain Group. This position develops, directs, and influences global sourcing and commodity strategies that deliver significant value in the supply chain through sourcing strategies, supply assurance, component quality, and gross margin improvements.
Responsibilities
- Build cross-functional alignment with hardware engineering to identify commodity sourcing strategies with the supply base capable of meeting NVIDIA business segment requirements for Boards and Systems Supply Chain.
- Develop and manage supplier relationships and conduct business reviews that improve supplier value, performance, and account investments through aligned roadmaps.
- Negotiate Master Service Agreements, drive cost reduction strategies, and maintain lead-time, cost systems and split-of-business decisions.
- Be accountable for component supply assurance and inventory flexibility programs that increase flexibility and minimize liabilities.
- Deliver a supplier risk management system, BOM risk reduction solutions, materials risk mitigation strategies, and maintain data integrity to ensure supply resiliency.
- Resolve impediments to production readiness and support execution during production.
- Enable early supplier involvement to bring industry innovation to deliver on aggressive project schedules.
- Focus on NPI to achieve industry-leading time-to-market: establish supplier selection criteria, identify alternative suppliers, qualify new suppliers, manage the RFQ process, and drive supplier selection in partnership with engineering.
Requirements
- BS in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management (or equivalent experience). MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 8+ years experience in global commodity management with a consistent record managing a semiconductor supply base.
- Deep understanding of power semiconductor technology, market, manufacturing processes, cost drivers, and supply landscape.
- Ability to be innovative in strategic sourcing, supplier relations, and supplier performance measurement systems.
- Strong analytical skills including cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection, and supply/demand analysis.
- Excellent negotiation and leadership skills in supplier management and contract negotiation.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills when dealing with supply base executives.
- High degree of integrity, initiative, and attention to detail in a collaborative environment.
- Technical experience to complement strong program management skills is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 160,000 USD - 253,000 USD. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits (see NVIDIA benefits page).
