Airbnb’s Payments and Insurance Engineering team builds the trusted financial and protection experiences that underpin Airbnb’s global marketplace. The team designs and operates an in-house platform that moves billions of dollars across 191 countries and 70 currencies, integrating with global payment and insurance partners. In this role you will build high-quality, mobile-first iOS experiences that strengthen payments and protection offerings for guests and hosts worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate product and business strategy into user-focused features
• Own and contribute across the full development lifecycle: technical design, implementation, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
• Provide feedback on product specs, UX mocks, code, and design documents
• Champion technical excellence through architecture choices, code reviews, reliability and performance improvements, and maintainability
• Lead technical initiatives within the team and collaborate on cross-team and cross-system integrations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years building, scaling, and maintaining iOS applications for large user bases
• Advanced proficiency in Swift and Objective-C
• Hands-on experience using UIKit, SwiftUI, and modern iOS UI architectures with emphasis on performance and maintainability
• Extensive experience integrating and consuming GraphQL APIs in production
• Demonstrated success shipping high-quality iOS applications to the App Store
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures and asynchronous programming
• Proven ability to design and deliver solutions in ambiguous problem spaces and across teams
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; experience working closely with product and design stakeholders
• Solid product sense and passion for UI/UX, able to translate product vision into polished experiences
• Experience leading technical initiatives, contributing to planning and execution, mentoring teammates, and elevating code quality through reviews and design discussions
• Nice to have: familiarity with payments and insurance concepts and user flows

Location & Work Policy

• This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager.
• You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (some states excluded).

Compensation

• Base pay range: $191,000—$223,000 USD
• This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
