The iOS Platform team sets the technical direction for iOS at Reddit. Our customers are primarily other engineers. It’s our job to help improve developer efficiency by providing libraries/APIs/frameworks, monitoring and improving performance, building shared components, improving build tools, etc. In the codebase, we own the core components of the app such as the networking and caching stack. We set the direction in which the codebase builds by defining which design patterns and technologies to employ at Reddit.
As an engineer on the iOS Platform team you are building and evolving the foundation on which all iOS development at Reddit is based. You will be responsible for designing and implementing new features, refactoring existing code, and collaborating with other engineers to develop innovative solutions that meet Reddit’s high standards for performance, reliability, and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Be the go-to person for developers on complex problems in iOS development.
- Drive new features from end-to-end through prototyping, validation, implementation, launch, and continuous iteration.
- Build the technical foundation for future features and experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent technical expertise.
- 5+ years of hands-on, professional software development experience developing user-facing iOS native mobile applications at scale, using Swift.
- Strategic thinker who thrives on developing a long-term technical foundation and has a passion for developing scalable, well-designed software.
- A track record of leading large projects that require cross-team and cross-functional collaborations.
- Entrepreneurial spirit: self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams such as design, product, and data teams to deliver great user experiences.

Pay Transparency
This job posting may span more than one career level. In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. Reddit offers a wide range of benefits to U.S.-based employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) program with employer match, generous time off for vacation, and parental leave.
The base pay range for this position is:
$190,800 - $267,100 USD
