Reddit is a community of communities with more than 100,000 active subreddits and approximately 101 million daily active unique visitors. The company strives to provide the most authentic conversations on the internet. The current Reddit experience lacks a real-time chat environment, and the Chat team aims to create a synchronous communication layer to enhance community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams to build new features and products on the iOS platform.
• Communicate effectively across disciplines to craft compelling user experiences.
• Contribute actively to team strategy and planning.
• Participate in product reviews, provide technical insights specific to iOS development, and help with scoping and prioritization.
• Foster a healthy engineering culture and collaborate with iOS and platform engineers.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of chat features for iOS.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent technical expertise.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing user-facing native iOS applications at scale using Swift.
• Strategic thinker with passion for building scalable and well-designed software on iOS.
• Experience leading large iOS projects involving cross-team collaboration.
• Proficiency with modern iOS frameworks and patterns such as SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, and Concurrency.
• Entrepreneurial mindset: self-directed, innovative, and action-oriented.
• Experience collaborating with design, product, and data teams to deliver great iOS user experiences.
