Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company that builds observability tools used globally (Grafana, Grafana Cloud, Grafana Enterprise Stack). The Field Engineering team are solution SMEs responsible for accelerating, scaling and improving the path to the technical win. This role is focused on building and managing a high-performing Field Engineering team across EMEA, partnering closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product Management, Engineering and Marketing to drive technical wins and influence product roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Attract, recruit, ramp and mentor a team of Field Engineers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Coach and develop team members with an individual coaching mindset and manage performance over time.
  • Balance team workload across account engagement, project development and maintenance, engineering engagement, competitive intelligence, conferences and enablement.
  • Own planning, actions and outcomes for the team based on leadership guidance and goals.
  • Serve as a culture carrier; prioritize teamwork and collaboration, valuing the right answer over being right.
  • Partner with Sales leadership on top-of-funnel programs, marketing initiatives and events to drive awareness and adoption.
  • Understand key customers’ strategies for adopting Grafana technologies and develop programs/collateral to enable customer success.
  • Work with Solutions Engineering on demo environment requirements and with Product Management and Engineering to influence product roadmap based on field feedback.
  • Own and report quarter-over-quarter cadence of team activities including discovery, demonstrations, stakeholder interviews, workshops, technical validation (POVs) and Mutual Account Plans.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in the high tech industry in roles such as Developer, Sales Engineer/Architect, SRE, Manager, etc.
  • 5+ years of people management experience in a sales organization with direct experience mentoring and developing people.
  • Direct experience selling monitoring / data / visualization products and experience with complex enterprise sales.
  • Experience with Open Source selling or a cloud-first / product-led go-to-market motion is a strong plus.
  • Direct experience implementing and/or executing a formal sales methodology (e.g., Command of the Message) and qualification frameworks like MEDDPICC.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices (IaC, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, etc.) is a plus.

Compensation & Rewards

  • Spain OTE (On-Target Earnings) range: EUR 129,000 - EUR 155,000 (actual compensation may vary by level, experience and skillset).
  • Roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) as part of total compensation.
