Responsibilities
- Build and manage a team of high-performing Field Engineers who act as solution SMEs for Grafana and accelerate the path to the technical win.
- Oversee global GTM execution with sales leader counterparts to help acquire new customers and build tools that accelerate technical wins.
- Coach, mentor, recruit and ramp Field Engineers from diverse backgrounds; manage team performance and growth.
- Work with the Solutions Engineering team to gather requirements and maintain a comprehensive demo environment.
- Collaborate with marketing to drive top-of-funnel programs leveraging workshops created and maintained by the Field Engineering team.
- Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to influence the roadmap based on field feedback and customer needs.
- Balance team workload across account engagement, project development and maintenance, engineering engagement, competitive intelligence, conferences and enablement.
- Own and report on quarter-over-quarter cadence while the team helps prospects evaluate software with discovery, demonstrations, stakeholder interviews, workshops, POVs and Mutual Account Plans.
Requirements
- 10+ years in the high tech industry in roles such as Developer, Sales Engineer/Architect, SRE, Manager, etc.
- 5+ years of people management experience in a sales organization with direct experience mentoring, developing people and managing performance over time.
- Direct experience selling monitoring/data/visualization products and experience with complex, enterprise sales.
- Experience in open source selling or cloud-first/product-led sales motion is a plus.
- Direct experience implementing/executing a formal sales methodology (e.g., Command of the Message, MEDDPICC).
- DevOps experience (IaC, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to partner with Sales, Product, Engineering and Marketing.
Compensation & Rewards
- In Germany, the OTE (On-Target Earnings) compensation range for this role is EUR 151,000 - EUR 181,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process.
- All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
