We are seeking a seasoned engineering manager to lead and scale a skilled team responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers Collibra production and developer environments at scale. The role focuses on high-availability, scalable cloud infrastructure, containerized environments (primarily Kubernetes), core messaging and eventing tools, and shared platform services that improve developer productivity and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide architectural leadership for large-scale, distributed systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of cloud-based infrastructure, focusing on containers (Kubernetes) and virtual machine environments.
- Lead the design and implementation of cloud networking solutions for production and development environments (scalability, high availability, security) across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
- Drive adoption of GitOps practices across infrastructure and development teams, using ArgoCD to automate Kubernetes application deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
- Oversee architecture and management of messaging and eventing systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Pulsar) to enable robust, scalable communication across microservices and distributed applications.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing engineering team, partner with other engineering leaders to define long-term infrastructure strategy, and advocate for developer productivity tools and environments.
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in leadership or management roles overseeing teams focused on infrastructure, SRE, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices.
- Proven expertise managing large-scale, distributed infrastructure systems, including containerized environments (primarily Kubernetes), virtual machines, and cloud services (AWS, GCP).
- Expertise in cloud networking: VPCs, DNS, routing, security groups, VPNs, load balancing, inter-cloud connectivity.
- Experience with Istio and service mesh technologies, including traffic management, observability, mTLS, and security features.
- Proficiency with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with ArgoCD and GitOps principles for automating Kubernetes deployments and managing infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Deep experience with messaging and event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, Apache Pulsar, or similar).
- Experience with shared platform services such as Elasticsearch.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
