As a Senior Manager of Solutions Engineering for the Central Region at Grafana Labs you will build and manage a high-performing team of Solution Engineers, drive regional go-to-market execution for OSS and commercial/cloud products, partner closely with Sales, Customer Experience, Marketing, Product Management and Engineering, and directly influence customer adoption and the product roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Attract, recruit, ramp, mentor and develop a diverse team of Presales Solution Engineers.
- Operate as a player/coach: balance field responsibilities (executive sponsorship of key accounts) with team leadership and coaching.
- Partner with Sales leadership on top-of-funnel programs, pipeline generation, marketing initiatives and community/company events.
- Drive discovery, demonstrations, stakeholder interviews, workshops, technical validation (including POVs) and Mutual Account Plans across the region.
- Own quarterly cadence and reporting for the team and align team activities to regional financial targets and company goals.
- Work with Customer Experience to ensure customers are successful through professional services, support, training and customer success.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to surface customer feedback and influence the product roadmap.
- Implement and execute formal sales methodologies and qualification frameworks in partnership with sales leadership.
Requirements
- Located in the Central Region of the United States.
- 5+ years in the high-tech industry in roles such as Developer, Sales Engineer/Architect, Manager, or similar.
- Direct experience mentoring, developing people and managing performance over time.
- Experience with Open Source selling or Cloud-first / Product-led go-to-market motions is a strong plus.
- Direct experience implementing and/or executing formal sales methodologies (examples called out: Command of the Message, MEDDPICC).
- Direct experience selling monitoring, data or visualization products and familiarity with monitoring/observability concepts.
- Direct experience in DevOps (examples listed: IaC, CI/CD, GitHub Actions) is a plus.
- Proven ability to own a book of business, build pipeline with sales counterparts and exceed quarterly targets.
Compensation & Equity
- In the US, the OTE (On-Target Earnings) compensation range for this role is $254,000 - $305,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience and skillset.
- All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
