NVIDIA is seeking a Sr Network Security Engineer to design and implement security best practices for on-premise and cloud access, protecting cloud and on-prem network infrastructure and supporting advanced workload scalability. The role focuses on infrastructure security including stateful firewalls, IDS/IPS, packet analysis, load balancing, vulnerability detection and prevention, and cloud-native security practices. The position requires deep technical expertise in multi-cloud services and tools, a cybersecurity background, hands-on cloud-native security experience, and strong troubleshooting skills for large-scale networks.
Responsibilities
- Implement, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls within on-premise and cloud network infrastructures
- Perform security audits, threat modeling, and risk assessments for networks
- Participate in ACL approvals and security reviews
- Document security guidelines for NGC on-premise and CSP deployments
- Enhance security feature set for increased visibility and network intelligence
- Maintain regular vulnerability patching and bug-scrub cadence with security vendors to eliminate potential threat vectors
Requirements
- Understand and enforce standard practices for securing cloud and on-premise environments, including network segmentation, data encryption, and identity access management
- Expert knowledge in Fortinet, FortiManager, Arista, and Cumulus
- Expert knowledge in firewall scaling & redundancy (Active/Passive & Active/Active), achieving scaled throughput while keeping network traffic secure, and firewall templating and policy package deployment
- Expert knowledge and operational experience with cloud-based cybersecurity principles and tools, including Anti-Bot/Malware/Virus protections, DLP, IDS/IPS, SSL inspection/decryption, URL inspection, and Zero Day defenses
- Understanding of host network hardening and network virtualization (VRFs, VxLAN)
- Strong background in routing and switching: BGP (iBGP, eBGP, RPKI), route reflectors, RTBH, 802.1x, MACSec, and an understanding of network backbone and datacenter design
- Familiarity with Cloud Service Provider virtualized firewall deployments and the ability to work cross-functionally with adjacent security organizations
- Understanding of security threats at each layer of the OSI model
- 5+ years of experience in network security with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Ways To Stand Out
- Expertise in OCI, GCP, AWS, and Azure cybersecurity
- Working knowledge of Mellanox/Cumulus OS
- Python, Shell scripting, or Golang for automation, tools, frameworks, and dashboards; open source contributions
- Experience designing and securing large-scale networks; familiarity with container and microservice concepts
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $136,000 - $212,750 USD for Level 3; $168,000 - $264,500 USD for Level 4 (final base salary determined based on location, experience, and peer pay)
- Eligible for equity and NVIDIA benefits
