Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company whose products (Grafana, Grafana Cloud, and the Grafana Enterprise Stack) provide metrics (Grafana Mimir), logs (Grafana Loki), and traces (Grafana Tempo) to customers worldwide. The Observability Architect (OA) is a post-sales, technical role that owns long-term adoption, expansion, and overall experience for a portfolio of Grafana customers. The OA is the primary technical contact for customers and acts as their voice to Product Management and Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for a portfolio of Grafana customers.
  • Design and guide customers along an observability maturity journey.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting, guidance, and assist in root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Conduct regular technical reviews and health checks to ensure client success.
  • Advise clients on best practices and strategies for leveraging Grafana products to meet business goals.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and execute technical roadmaps.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize cost, expand usage of solutions, and drive adoption of new products/features.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Own customer lifecycle with support from Engagement Managers and Onboarding Solutions Architects.
  • Drive product adoption to maximize customer ROI and value.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within Grafana Labs, advocating for needs and feature requests.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops; create technical documentation, guides, and tutorials.
  • Prepare and present reports on client metrics, achievements, and areas of focus.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical sales, Technical Account Manager (TAM) or other post-sales technical experience, ideally with open source technologies or in the observability space.
  • Experience deploying and operating Kubernetes.
  • Observability expertise (architect-level preferred) and familiarity with observability tooling and workflows.
  • Ability to connect product usage to business value (ROI) and manage customer lifecycle.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills; ability to provide timely workarounds and solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for collaboration with remote internal teams and global customers.
  • Creative problem-solving to address customer adoption challenges and a desire to grow technically. Candidates may come from coding bootcamps, post-sales, or engineering backgrounds.

Bonus Points

  • Strong understanding of observability solutions; hands-on experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.

Compensation & Rewards

  • UK OTE (On-Target Earnings) range: £108,000 - £130,000 (actual compensation may vary by level, experience, and skillset).
  • Roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
  • Country-specific compensation ranges apply; recruiters will discuss location-specific pay ranges.
