Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company with a global user base and a suite of observability products (Grafana Cloud, Grafana Enterprise Stack, Grafana Mimir, Grafana Loki, Grafana Tempo). The Observability Architect (OA) will pioneer a post-sales technical partnership function, driving long-term adoption, expansion, and ROI for a portfolio of Grafana customers. The OA is the primary technical contact for customers and will work closely with Engagement Managers, Product Management, and Engineering to ensure customer success.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for a portfolio of Grafana customers.
- Design and guide customers through an observability maturity journey.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and guidance to drive product adoption.
- Conduct regular technical reviews, health checks, and assist in root cause analysis (RCA) affecting customer satisfaction and retention.
- Advise clients on best practices and strategies for leveraging Grafana products to meet business goals.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and execute technical roadmaps.
- Identify opportunities to optimize cost, expand product usage, and adopt new features.
- Maintain long-term relationships with stakeholders and own customer lifecycle with support from Engagement Managers and Onboarding Solutions Architects.
- Act as the voice of the customer internally, advocating for feature requests and product improvements.
- Conduct training sessions, workshops, and produce technical documentation, guides, and tutorials.
- Prepare and present reports on client metrics, ROI, and areas of focus.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical sales, Technical Account Management (TAM), or other post-sales technical experience, ideally with open source technologies or in the observability space.
- Experience deploying and operating Kubernetes.
- Observability expertise (preferably at an architect level).
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Proven ability to connect product usage to business value (ROI) and manage customer lifecycle.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for collaborating with remote teams and worldwide customers.
- Ability to run workshops, trainings, and present technical material to mixed technical and non-technical audiences.
- Creative problem solving to address customer adoption challenges and provide timely workarounds and solutions.
- Candidates with a recent coding bootcamp, prior engineering background, or post-sales experience are encouraged; you may not meet every requirement and that is acceptable.
Bonus
- Strong understanding of observability solutions; experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
Compensation & Rewards
- For Sweden, the OTE (On-Target Earnings) compensation range for this role is stated as 1,086,00 SEK - 1,300,00 SEK. Actual compensation may vary by level, experience, and skillset. All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
