Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company used by millions worldwide to monitor systems with the Grafana stack (Grafana, Mimir, Loki, Tempo). This role pioneers a new post-sales technical partnership function — the Observability Architect (OA) — owning technical relationships, long-term adoption, expansion, and ROI for a portfolio of Grafana customers. The OA will be the primary technical contact for customers, collaborate with Engagement Managers and Product/Engineering teams, and drive customer success through strategic consulting, technical guidance, and advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for a portfolio of Grafana customers.
- Design and guide customers on an observability maturity journey.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting, guidance, and RCA support to drive adoption and resolve issues affecting satisfaction and retention.
- Conduct regular technical reviews and health checks; prepare and present reports on client metrics and achievements.
- Advise clients on best practices and strategies to achieve business goals using Grafana products.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and execute technical roadmaps.
- Identify opportunities to optimize cost, expand use of Grafana solutions, and drive adoption of new products and features.
- Develop and deliver technical documentation, guides, tutorials, training sessions, and workshops.
- Act as the voice of the customer internally, advocating for feature requests and customer priorities.
- Work with account teams, Engagement Managers, and Onboarding Solutions Architects to own the customer lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical sales, Technical Account Management (TAM), or other post-sales technical experience — ideally with open source technologies or in the observability space.
- Experience deploying and operating Kubernetes.
- Observability expertise (architect level preferred); familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills; ability to identify and provide timely workarounds and solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to connect product usage to business value (ROI) and manage customer lifecycle.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for collaborating with remote teams and worldwide customers.
- Ability to deliver technical trainings and produce technical documentation.
- Creative problem solver comfortable working across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Candidates with recent coding-bootcamp backgrounds or prior post-sales or engineering experience are welcome.
Bonus
- Strong understanding of observability solutions; hands-on experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
Compensation & Rewards
- In the Netherlands, the OTE (On-Target Earnings) range for this role is 120,000 EUR - 144,000 EUR. Actual compensation may vary by level, experience, and market.
- Roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
